The finale of American Horror Story: Coven airs tonight on FX and the question everyone is asking is “who is the next supreme?” No, not a member of the singing trio that launched Diana Ross, but the head witch of the coven based in New Orleans. The third season of AHS has had the highest ratings yet and viewers are sure to flock in numbers to see the epic conclusion.
Will it be one of the young women just discovering their powers? Or will it be headmistress Cordelia, played by the beautiful actress and fellow gay Sarah Paulson, who comes out on top of the Seven Wonders? “Cordelia maybe has a little bit more of her mother’s ju-ju than I think you might have imagined,” Paulson told The Hollywood Reporter. “This season is still really about mothers and daughters and what it means to be a parent and to be a child and come into your own and own your own power as a human,” she added. And what a mother she’s had to play off. Jessica Lange has brought to life a ruthless and cunning, but still sympathetic aging witch who doesn’t understand her daughter’s lack of ambition.
Paulson said Cordelia has more to do in than finale than she has all season. Hopefully nothing as gross as when she gouged her eyes out in an effort to regain the gift of second sight. “Coven comes to the end of something that feels complete and in line with what the story has been thus far,” Paulson said. “This show, as a whole, is a bit lighter than last year. That’s been fun to do something different, and it’s brought a whole new group of fans to the show.”

Paulson with other AHS vets Lily Rabe, Taissa Farmiga, Evan Peters and new additions Emma Roberts and Gabourey Sidibe.
Unlike last year, Paulson’s character in Coven is not a lesbian, but that doesn’t stop us from fantasizing about her reigning supreme over this season’s other beauties. Catch the finale tonight at 10 p.m. on FX and prepare yourself for whatever delightfully creepy tale is in store for us next season.
UPDATE:
**SPOILER ALERT**
The answer is YES indeed!
