Jeremy Brandrick was a fan and cast favorite on Season 12 of Project Runway with his quick wit, kind nature, sass, talent, and classic style. When the career designer was eliminated in episode nine, the outcry from fans was enormous. Post-PR, Brandwick is working on a new menswear line and living in Chelsea with his partner and two small children. GTSA caught up with Brandrick at his home in Chelsea to talk fashion, reality TV, and life after Project Runway.

In Goldenrod and Tomorrow Always Comes, Avery Paul targets a new corner of the market with protagonist Finn Greystroke, a gay James Bond if you will. I’ve always been a fan of the Bond franchise and of the iconic Ian Fleming novels from which they stemmed. I’m anxiously awaiting the next installment with the sexy Daniel Craig. That alone is what eventually made me crack and sit down to read these after my last review, but I was actually pleasantly surprised after finishing reading both of them.

BOOK REVIEW: Kindle Alexander’s Double Full
Browsing the Kindle store, my attention is immediately stolen by a strapping photo of a hunk in football gear. On a sheer whim, I hit the purchase button. Double Full is the first book in a series by Author Kindle Alexander that chronicles the relationship of its main characters, Colton and Jace. Things literally start off with a bang, the first scene naturally depicting a passionate encounter in the locker room.

OITNB Writer Leaves Husband for Poussey
Lauren Morelli, one of the head writers for Orange is the New Black, has filed a joint petition for divorce with her husband of two years, Steve Basilone. TMZ reports the reason for the divorce is Morelli’s realization of her sexuality. Morelli began working on Orange is the New Black five months after her wedding and it was through writing Piper’s journey that she began to realize her own feelings.

HBO Breaks Up with Ryan Murphy’s Lesbian Drama
Despite the critical success of The Normal Heart, Ryan Murphy’s last collaboration with HBO, the premium network has decided not to move forward with Murphy’s new series. Gillian Anderson to Devour Hannibal
It was announced yesterday that the immensely talented and disarmingly gorgeous Gillian Anderson will be returning to Hannibal for its third season, this time as a series regular. Anderson, who is openly bisexual, recurred in the first two seasons of the NBC thriller as Bedelia du Maurier, Hannibal Lecter’s shrink.

RUMOR: Logo to Relaunch, Rebrand with Straight Women in Mind
Logo is planning to relaunch in an effort to broaden its reach, according to a source close to the network. The goal is to attract more straight women, a move considered puzzling by lesbians. Viewers can expect the new network to look a little more like Bravo, but gayer. New content is currently in production, with casting calls out for both gay and straight talking heads. The date of the relaunch is unknown.

Disney Channel Introduces First-Ever Lesbian Couple
The Disney Channel just got a little bit gayer. This past Sunday, the channel introduced its first-ever lesbian couple in this past Sunday’s episode of Good Luck Charlie.
“This particular storyline was developed under the consultancy of child development experts and community advisors,” a spokesperson for Disney Channel told TV Guide. “Like all Disney Channel programming, it was developed to be relevant to kids and families around the world and to reflect themes of diversity and inclusiveness.”

Sarah Paulson Cast in Todd Haynes’ Carol
Sarah Paulson has just signed on to star in Carol, directed by Todd Haynes and based on Patricia Highsmith’s novel, The Price of Salt. Carol is set in 1950s New York and tells the story of an ambitious department-store clerk who falls in love with an older, married woman (the great Cate Blanchett). Todd Haynes is no stranger to gay characters, having previously helmed the fantastic Velvet Goldmine. Paulson will portray the role of Abby, Blanchett’s close friend and former lover, as originally reported in Variety.

As a gay viewer watching a gay television show, there’s a strange feeling that you should like the material even if it’s “just okay”. When you consider the importance of shows like Queer as Folk and The L Word, it has little to do with the quality of the programs and more with the content. You accept that these shows are great because you feel the need to appreciate their existence in a sea of heterosexual stories. This seems to also be the case for HBO’s Looking.

Steamy 2014 Orthodox Calendar Creatively Protests Russian Church’s Gay Marriage Stance (NSFW)
This sexy Orthodox Calendar features naughty pictures of gay men with religious imagery and was released by a group of Eastern Orthodox Christians in protest of Russia’s anti-gay laws. An anonymous group of six people from countries that were once part of the Soviet Union are responsible for the calendar made up of illustrations by Hungarian artist Tienne.

If you happened to catch the 71st Golden Globe Awards you witnessed quite the spectacle.
